Our Story
When we started our construction company in 1989, we had a vision of building high-quality luxury homes, and most importantly, we wanted to keep the home building experience fun and exciting from start to finish for our clients. We also wanted to maintain 100 percent control of our company, and that meant daily involvement in the business operations. Therefore, we kept production volumes low and manageable—and, here we are, 30 years later with a modest 65 homes under our belt, still maintaining the same core values we established all those years ago.
Owners of Wine Country Homes, Pat and Colleen Hayko, start every project with a welcoming invitation to tour our current show home in Kelowna. This personalized meeting enables us to get to know you in an informal atmosphere and show you the award inspired design and detail that goes into every home we build.

Our Team
Over the years, we have assembled multiple award-winning teams of designers, tradespeople, suppliers and service people who are indeed the ‘best of the best.’
You will meet and work harmoniously with all of them as they skillfully apply their craft to your dream home.
We work extensively with Lee Mullins of Mullins Design Group, an award-winning Kelowna home design company that has designed thousands of residential and commercial projects, from high-end luxury properties to mid-range homes, across the Okanagan.
All of our clients are given the opportunity to meet with award-winning interior home design expert Ginette of Ginette Interiors. Her amazing vision will help you bring your ideas to life.
Colleen Hayko is one of the first people you will meet when you walk into our show home in Kelowna. Colleen has decorated all of our personal homes and is happy to provide everything from a cup of coffee to décor advice.

Involved in new home building and real estate for almost 35 years, Pat Hayko grew up in Winnipeg, where he started his first custom home building company in 1989.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Pat and his wife Colleen moved to the Okanagan in 1996. After a brief stint in real estate, Pat started Wine Country Homes and continued to carry on his tradition of building quality luxury homes.
Word subsequently got out about Pat's attention to detail and his low-key, no-pressure approach. Pat describes himself as a handshake type of guy, and his word means everything.
When time permits, Pat enjoys spending time with his wife Colleen, walking, hiking, golfing and enjoying everything that the beautiful Okanagan has to offer.
Mullins Design Group has been creating award-winning custom home designs since 1996. So, it's no surprise that Wine Country Homes—an established low volume luxury home builder—has partnered with Mullins Design Group to create their stunning homes.
